Indie Brands are delighted to be working with Mezcal Madre, the fastest growing mezcal brand in the U.S.

Mezcal Madre is an artisanal Mezcal, made by hand in the hills of San Dionisio, Oaxaca. Both Espadin and Cuishe agave are used to create Madre’s distinct flavour.

The agaves are roasted in the earth and fermented with local well-water and wild yeast found in the mountain air.

Distillation happens in the family’s aged copper still, finishing the mezcal with a strong, but soft body.

Mezcal Madre carries a hint of smoke, with a sweet copal fragrance. Herbal notes of sage, earth, and minerals appear on the tongue, with a lingering floral finish.

History
Mezcal is one of the oldest alcohols in the world, dating back to pre-colonial Mexico. Using over 30 different varieties of agaves, the native populations of Mexico have been fermenting and distilling spirits as part of their culture for centuries.

Working with Mezcelaros from communities in Oaxaca crafting artisanal spirits in small batches, Madre has created a unique blended Mezcal steeped in tradition.
