After Mario, Cargo Cult’s Brand Ambassador in London, identified how well Banana pairs with Cargo Cult in Cocktails, it got the team thinking… one thing in no short supply in the South Pacific are Bananas.
After six months of experimenting and development, the result is this superbly balanced dry Spiced Rum with an entirely natural Banana aroma and taste. Unique to the category, the recipe also contains no added sugar, allowing the rum’s natural flavours to shine.
Requiring to be fully ripe to extract optimal flavour, bananas are notoriously difficult to work with, yet the reward is clear in the satisfyingly sweet notes of this smooth spiced rum.
Handcrafted in small batches with two aged rums from a remote distillery on Papua New Guinea’s Ramu River Valley, and those from a distillery on the sun-drenched island of Fiji.
The banana extract is then macerated with the blended rums before being spiced and aged for up to 3 years in ex-Bourbon barrels.
