CÓDIGO 1530 AÑEJO
Regarded by many as one of the finest examples of an aged tequila, Código 1530 Añejo spends around 18 months resting in charred Napa Cabernet French white oak barrels, an homage to the refined elegance of good winemaking.
Simply put, this is an exquisite tequila which delivers hints of fruit, light oak, vanilla and spice.
Adhering to strict production methods, Código 1530 only use fully mature agave plants aged for at least 7 years, and which achieve the required Brix level of measured sugar content.
Collecting just a quarter of the juice from the first press, around 10kg of agave piñas are required to produce just one litre of the final tequila.
The agave juice, fresh water filtered through the region’s volcanic soils and organic yeast from a local village bakery come together in the family’s proprietary fermentation process.
Finally, the spirit is matured in the house’s signature style in hand-charred Napa Cabernet Oak wine barrels, resting the tequila for around 18 months.
Aged ‘to taste’, rather than defined strictly by time, the tequila interacts with the oak barrels to impart depth and elegance to this añejo.
