As the name suggests, this is a powerfully-peaty scotch with some of the highest levels of peat to be found in whisky.. The result is a dram that’s robust and rich, yet with a silky, smooth finish.

As for the beast itself… this creature is said to roam the Scottish countryside stirring fear and trepidation through many a village as it hunts for peat. This singular range of whiskies celebrates the enigma that is Peat’s Beast.

Peat’s Beast was developed through a British and German partnership, with design by a Brazilian living in Los Angeles. Unlike most peaty whiskies’ origins on Islay, this is a blend of single malts from Speyside. While it combines various ages and styles of whisky, these all originate from the same distillery, hence its classification as a single malt.

This is a celebration of peat, and the unique aromas and flavours that this traditional fuel imparts to the whisky. When peat fires are used to dry malted barley, the smoke flavours the grains. In addition, the nearby water inevitably contains peat, imparting its flavour in this way too. To preserve this bold flavour profile, Peat’s Beast is non chill filtered, with nothing added or taken away.
