Mundo Tequila is a modern take on a classic that combines tradition with innovation to recreate the ancient spirit with a modern twist. It has an alcohol content of 35% and is produced in the finest, purest quality using some of the most refined production processes to preserve the heritage of the delicious drops, Mundo lacks neither flavour nor authenticity.
Mundo Tequila is produced and distilled by La Cofradía a family company and 3rd generation distillery which has been producing and bottling tequila for over 50 years. It’s made by fermenting the sugars of the blue agave plant, grown predominantly in just one region of Mexico – Jalisco. An agave plant takes between five and seven years to grow to full size and requires centuries-old skills from Jimadores – the men who plant, tend and harvest it – before becoming tequila. The taste is affected by the location in which blue agave is grown, with the enriched lowland soil lending the liquor a spicy herbaceous flavour, while the red clay soil of the highlands adds a sweet, mineral quality to the Mundo tequila.
The piñas (the heart of the agave) are transported to ovens where they are to be slowly baked to break down the complex fructans into simple fructoses. The extracted juice from the piñas is then poured into copper or stainless-steel vats for several days to ferment resulting in a liquid with low alcohol percent. This liquid is then distilled at least two times as it is required by law. Finally, the bottles are wrapped in labels by a specially built machine, and the top is turned by hand so that it is presented like a Mundo newspaper ready to enjoy.
70% Blue Agave, 30% Raw cane sugar (Piloncillo/Penela) & spring water from the highlands of Jalisco.
It is great in every tequila cocktail, but try it in our Paloma or the Spicy margarita where it really comes to life.
Notes of citrus, the herbal aroma of fresh cut grass, touches of honey, aromas of bread dough and a light floral note of lilies.
You will feel the light alcohol, reminiscent of fresh green chilli, but also with some notes of dulce de leche (caramel) from the cooking of the agave, sweet deep honey, and a sweet and citrus and a clear mineral aftertaste.
Bright, transparent and crystalline, unctuous with silver reflections, with a medium to full-body.
