Villa Massa create what we believe to be the quintessential expression of the Italian classic, limoncello.
Using a traditional family recipe dating back to 1890 and with lemons supplied by the same farmer for over a quarter of a century, Villa Massa is made from handpicked organic Sorrento Oval lemons. Organically grown and rich with natural flavours, this exceptional variety of lemons have a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status as a marker of their quality.
The Massa family have been producing this ‘liquore di limone di Sorrento’ from their estate for over 100 years, notable as being the first company to produce and sell limoncello first within Italy itself, and then as their reputation grew, to overseas markets.
Paying homage to a family recipe handed down from generation to generation for over a century, Villa Massa was founded in 1991 by brothers Sergio and Stefano Massa who were keen to share the product of their family’s craft with the world.
Situated high in the hills of Sorrento, overlooking the majestic Bay of Naples, sits the historic ‘Le Grotelle’, the sun-drenched lemon grove where Villa Massa’s limoncello was first created, and which continues to provide the exceptional fruit used in
their recipe today.
