The Margarita — tequila, triple sec and lime juice — was created in 1938 in Mexico and is widely considered the official drink of fun and enjoyment. Somewhere it’s 5 o’clock, and that’s never truer than on Margarita Day. So, get out a shaker, and let’s get started. Salud!

Coming at you with a Tommy’s Margarita made with Arette Reposado.

Created by Julio Bermejo and named after his family’s Mexican restaurant and bar in San Francisco, the self-proclaimed “premier tequila bar on earth”.

Tomas and Elmy Bermejo set up Tommy’s in 1965 with Julio being one of five children who are all involved in the business. Julio has become a legend in the drinks industry for his Tommy’s Margarita.

You can now find the Tommy’s Margarita on bar menus all around the world.
The family restaurant where the drink was firstly created has become something of a drinks mecca for mixologists and bar flies wanting to check out the originals of this world famous drink.

Tommy’s Margarita

INGREDIENTS
60ml Arette Reposado
15ml Beso Agave Syrup
30ml freshly squeezed lime juice

METHOD
Shake the ingredients with ice.
Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass, half-rimmed with salt.
Garnish with a lime wedge.
